MARIA GUILHERMINA VICENTE PEREIRA LIMA Sadly, the family announces the passing of a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Maria Guilhermina Lima passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband Silvino Lima in 1996; brother Manuel Vicente; sister Angelina Pereira and niece Eduarda Pacheco. She leaves to mourn, her children Paulina, Mario (Leonor), José, Armando; grandchildren Andrew and Jessica; sister Maria da Conceiçao Pereira and family as well as numerous nieces, nephews and relatives-in-law. Maria was born on December 31, 1929 in Ribeira Cha, Sao Miguel, Açores. She married Silvino in 1954; he was her great love. They lived there until 1971, when they moved the family to Winnipeg, where she worked as a seamstress until retirement. Maria was a gentle and kind lady who was always respectful of others. She was a devout Catholic and a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street North. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011, also in the Immaculate Conception Parish, with the Rev. Fr. Wladimir Porreca the celebrant. Maria will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Silvino in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery. Maria's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Health Sciences Centre, GD-2 and RR-6 for their kindness, care and comfort during the past two months.
